Rana Bazazo
“Rana Bazazo boasts an impressive background in basketball coaching and education. Having
embarked on her coaching journey at the age of 16, Rana’s passion for the sport led her to
pursue a degree in Physical Education from the Lebanese University in 2014. She further honed
her skills by obtaining an International Diploma in Basketball from the University of Leipzig in
2018, followed by a degree in Sports Science from the International Trainer Course Leipzig (ITK)
in 2020.
Rana’s coaching career has been marked by notable achievements and experiences. From her early days at Harlem Academy and Hoops, she transitioned to the prestigious Al Riyadi Club in 2013. During her tenure, she coached mini basketball teams to victory in both local and international tournaments. Additionally, Rana led girls’ teams to success in local tournaments and Lebanese championships. Rana’s dedication to basketball coaching is further evidenced by her tenure as the head coach of the Women’s Varsity Team at the American University of Beirut (AUB) from 2014 to September 2021, where she achieved remarkable success in both local and international competitions. In December 2022, Rana brought her talents to Canada, serving as an assistant basketball coach at Lakeland College Rustlers in Lloydminster, Alberta, where she played an instrumental role in securing first place in the ACAC and clinching third place in the national championship (CCAA). Additionally, Rana held the position of head coach at Hoop Factory for the basketball program, further solidifying her reputation as a skilled and dedicated coach in the basketball community.”
Her expertise also led her to serve second assistant coach in the first division men’s team.With best team in Lebanon and Asia, Rana has augmented her coaching prowess through attending numerous clinics in Europe, enhancing her understanding of the game’s intricacies and modern coaching techniques. She has also shared her knowledge and expertise as a speaker at the Global Youth Summit, where she represented top coaches in a presentation titled “How to Develop Spacing and Motion for U10 till U18.”
